Hi guys,
Today I am going to talk about popular manga for girls (Shōjo manga) of my age in Japan. Shojo manga (少女漫画) translates as “comics for girls” – but it’s much more than that. Shojo manga stories can be sweet and romantic or dark and dramatic. Beside romances of every flavor, there are girls manga centered around sports, science fiction or gothic horror themes.
Popular themes in Shōjo manga are:
- Magical Girl (Maho Shojo) Manga
- School Romance Shojo Manga
- Historical Romance Shojo Manga
- Modern Romance Shojo Manga
- Science Fiction Shojo Manga
- Sports Shojo Manga
- Gothic Horror / Vampire Shojo Manga
- Boys Love (Yaoi) Manga
- Girls Love (Yuri) Manga
The first manga that I read in Japan is called Chao (ちゃお) . It is a really popular ざっしまん画 magazine manga. It has presents such as: pens, bags, DVD's, cards and pouches. A new one comes in advance of 1 month. (so we can know the fashion trends 1 month before`0`).
Stories inside:
Chibi Debi is the story of 3 cute babies who are in kindergarten and have powers. I don't really know the purpose of the story but I think the story is about how they become bigger.
Secret Girls is a mew manga about two girls who found out that three of the singers that they love are in their school and how they will become idols too.
Cooking Mama is a manga based from a cooking game with recipes and cooking secrets.
Hime girl paradise agepoyo max is about fashion and about high school. It is really funny. Recommended for girls about 8~12.
Nijiiro prism girl is a manga about a girl who wants to be an actress. It shows her auditions, her commercials and how she becomes famous.
Half is about a girl who tries to steal the life of her twin. It is not scary.
Look here Miiko is a reeeally funny manga just about a normal 12 years old. She is small doesn't have good grades but is good at sports. Good for girls about 10.
Hey say jump is the manga of a japanese boys band. Its nice, really funny.
Purple love,
Tiyi
P.S: Chibi Debi means cute devil. Hime means princess. Agepoyo is a word that means that your happy or your tension is up. Sagepoyo is the other way. Nijiiro means rainbow color. Published on Japan
